Can you guess the mood of this writing?

A small group of team ten writers meet with Miss McLean, a teacher who used to team in the Middle Team, to do some writing. We watched videos and read other people writing to set some goals for our own writing. Then we had a go at creating a mood in our short story starters. See if you can guess the mood of the stories.

Story 1

I was planning an attack with my friends.
“Ok we’ll do it tomorrow, meet you at my house.” I went to bed excited about tomorrow. The next day, I got up early and had some breakfast…(half an hour later)…
”I’m going round to my friends house mum”.
I walk towards my friends house I walk into the house, I look over the house calling Sam! Sam! Sa…I had just opened the cupboard door…there in front of my eyes was my friend with blood dribbling out of his forehead.

Story 2

One day my Mum called me from my bedroom. She weaped “can you go see Aunty Lulu? She is sick in bed.”
“Sure” I said.
I grabbed a basket and raced into the wood. What is that rustling in the bushes. I ran over and saw a …violety. greeny, cute little monster. It was about 10 cm tall.
I whispered “What’s your name?”
She said in the tiniest voice “Larissa”
“Come on. Hop into the basket and let’s go.”
We zoomed through the woods and suddenly stopped.
There was a little ladybug about 5cm wide.
I said “what’s your name”.
“Lottie”
“Hop in this basket with Larissa and let’s go.”
I ran to Aunty Lulu’s house. Finally I was there but I saw a big moving truck there. I saw Aunty Lulu in the middle sneezing with snot coming out of her nose. I said “what’s that there for?”
She said “I’m moving to the country side. Oh, here’s some cake, muffins and cherries, but first I have to get something out of the basket.

Story 3

I walked into the zoo gates wondering about what my hot summer zoo day would have in store for me. I saw a big crowd standing by the lion cage. There were tall people, small people, fat people and skinny people but out of all of those kinds of people I was 100% sure that I was the smallest person there. I shoved and pushed all of the people. I suddenly saw that all of the people’s eyes were gazing at the cage. I froze and shuddered. I saw that all of the people were staring at the lion. He was climbing up the cage.

Story 4

Once upon a time there was a boy called Jack who lived in a small broken down cottage with his mother. They had practically no money. One day they ran out of money, then Jack went into the woods to search for sticks and he got lost. His mother was worried sick so out she went to look for him. Meanwhile, Jack had gotten up to no good!

Story 5

I was so excited. I was just about to walk into my new school. I peered though the doors and then started walking down the big long corridor. I soon found my new classroom. I went up to this girl who looked all popular and I could see that she had lots of make-up.
I said,” Hi, so do you wanna go to lunch”
Then she said meanly, “No, I have got my own friends.
So at lunch I ended up sitting by myself.

Strength Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces
We designed a jigsaw puzzle piece to display our strengths. We talked about things that 'Excite' us, things that we 'Excel' at and things that we 'Enjoy'.

Art Gallery Portraits
At the beginning of the term we visited the Art Gallery. We took part in a Portrait workshop where we used dark dye colours and white paint. The students painted from a chosen photograph. It is not a portrait of themselves! Aren't they fabulous!
Our Daily Timetable
Each day we look at our timetable up on the big screen. Sometimes it changes during the day if we don't manage to fit everything in. Today we did a P.A.T reading test which involves us listening to a story and answering the mult-choice questions.
Statistics
We have been learning how to collect data and display it using different graphs. All the students have made their own Statistics poster with the data they collected.
